I watch so much you tube and I get so many of my ideas and techniques from there that I thought this might require it's own section!!!. I'll probably start doing my own videos at some point. It's really the inevitable course of action right? First comes excessive commenting and posting, then personal blog creation and then comes the You Tube Channel in a baby carriage. Okay but seriously, I'm a ham...a secluded loner ham who spends waaay too much time on the Internet. It was meant to be.
Moving on to today's Adventure, I needed to pluck my eyebrows...zee time had come, but I had a problem I've never experienced before. I had options. Normally all I do is pluck them, professional eyebrow care is not a place I want to spend my money. I would rather buy a book or a blush. I watched a You Tube video the other day on threading. The only reason I even knew about threading was that I clicked on some link about it why searching Eastern eye lining methods. For those of you who don't know, threading is when you take a single piece of thread, tie it into a loop, twist it and then use strategic pulling methods to pull out hairs. It sounds complicated, and it does take a while to get the hang of it, but when you do you get those perfect lines we envy in Bollywood stars.
My results:
I had the courage to go a bit thinner than normal and I was terrified of ripping and entire swatch out of my eye. It was truly a terrifying, nail biting experience, but I must say it definitely hurt less than plucking and my eyes was visible less irritated by it. I imagine it will be faster later too, asis it took me just as much time to thread as it does to pluck. I'm very happy I decided to give it a try.
To learn about threading, I highly recommend this video by Eily311. I'm sure there are many out there. Some people are even courageous enough to document their first time at it. Overall I think she was very clear, concise and encouraging about. Her eyebrows are also excellent, making you feel like she knows what she is doing.
I love the precise look. I
started off plucking my eyebrows. I was never able to achieve an arch, it was mostly straight. So I wouldn't even bother highlighting when I'd wear eye makeup. So I inquired about threading and
surprisingly, it wasn't so costly. I've seen some places where it costs $10+. I'm not about to spend $30+ monthly, like you I'd rather buy blush. But I do get my eyebrows threaded at the South
Asian salons for $5-$6. It's been a painless process ever since and I love my arches! Threading my eyebrows did such a drastic difference to my face.. for the better!
